Rathy wins Oakley Riot
Aaron Rathy was the favourite to win the inaugural Oakley Riot at the Sea Dubai Festival, and he delivered. Landing a ‘heel-side 900’ on his third double-up, it was fitting that the Oakley sponsored rider took home the $7000 1st place cheque. Shane Bonifay came second after landing his superb ‘Mocha-Latte’ and Keith Lyman came third with a ‘Backside 720’.
‘Rathy showed his class today after only arriving the night before the event and getting straight into his rhythm’ said Oakley Brand Manager in the GCC and event organizer Andrew Whiteman. ‘The event was a huge success and we are looking forward to making the Oakley Riot an annual event. It is great for the sport in the region, where the UAE local amateur tour is followed by the best riders in the world. It wouldn’t have been possible to make this happen without the help from the sponsors, judges, drivers and of course the riders. And to have two Oakley guys on the podium, was the icing on the cake’.

Sea Dubai Festival
The Sea Dubai Festival is an annual watersports event held by the Dubai international Marina Club in Dubai. Along with the Oakley Riot, the attractions for the festival include the Shamaal surf ski race, the Sea Dubai RC44 Gold Cup, lifeguard championships and sailing regattas.
